Architecture and narratives
The video project analyzed the "labyrinth" of intersections that appear through a prospective illusion that urban architectures create.
Starting from the awareness
that every architectural complex derives from a graphical drawing,
I used the video to catalog a
series of structural lines and visual rhythmic games in which the three-dimensional object returns back
to become a graphical element,
by reversing the process of construction.
This video represents only the first step of an investigation into the process of mnemonic assimilation and manipulation of visual data.
I started to analyze a small portion of the Appio Latino district. The territory extends into the southeast quadrant of the city of Rome. The urban fabric is intensive, characterized by tall buildings and very little green, for
the part closest to the center, dates back to the early twentieth century, for the former Rome IX Town Hall. In particular, the area I focused on, is characterized by architectures made from the thirties up to the early sixties describing thirty years.
The video has been selected for the collective exhibition “Paesaggi Elettronici” at the contemporary art museum MACRO (Roma) curated by Teresa Macri,2016.
